Barca new Champions League favourites

March 18th, 2018
BARCELONA ARE NEW FAVOURITES with Ladbrokes to win the Champions League
After being gifted one of the easier ties of the quarter final draw in Roma, the La Liga giants have leapfrogged Man City into 13/5 favouritism.
City themselves – despite avoiding the likes of Barca, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, have drifted to 7/2 shots after all the big sides avoided each other.
And Pep Guardiola’s men will meet Liverpool in the next round, who have seen their odds of lifting the European Cup drift from 9/1 to 11/1 following this morning’s draw.
Reigning champions Real Madrid are now 9/2 to go all the way, while Bayern share the second-favourites tag with City.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The draw has guaranteed one English side a spot in this year’s semi finals, but outright attention turns to Barcelona, who were as big as 8/1 last year.”

Chelsea shock favourites to sign Aaron Ramsey
AARON RAMSEY COULD BE SET for a shock move across London, according to Ladbrokes.
Chelsea are reportedly looking in to the possibility of bringing the Welshman to Stamford Bridge, and the bookies make it just 7/4 he makes West London his next port of call.
But a move to Merseyside isn’t being ruled out, with Liverpool (2/1) and Everton (5/1) second and third in the betting respectively.
Elsewhere, Man United are also 5/1 shots to seal a deal, while a return to Cardiff (16/1) is currently Ramsey’s least likely option if he leaves Arsenal.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “All eyes will be on Ramsey in the next few transfer windows with a whole host of top clubs set to do battle for his signature. But the early betting suggests Chelsea have an edge over their rivals.”

Tarkowski ODDS-ON for World Cup call-up
JAMES TARKOWSKI IS NOW ODDS-ON with Ladbrokes to make England’s World Cup squad.
The Burnley defender received a call-up from Gareth Southgate for the upcoming international friendlies and has seen his odds of making the plane to Russia slashed to just 5/6 as a result.
Meanwhile, Nick Pope (EVS) is almost as likely as Joe Hart to make England’s World Cup squad, with Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook now considered a 5/2 shot.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s a credit to Sean Dyche and Burnley that the England boss has given Pope and Tarkowski a chance to impress on an international stage, and the odds suggest we’ll be seeing the pair in Russia this summer.”

Man United 2/1 to lose De Gea this summer
MAN UNITED LOOK SET to finally lose David de Gea in the summer, according to Ladbrokes.
The bookies have slashed odds to just 2/1 on the Spanish shot-stopper to finally make a move following United’s Champions League exit.
And it’s Real Madrid who are leading the way in the race to sign him when the transfer window opens at 4/1, with the Spanish giants seemingly set for a summer spending spree.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s likely Madrid will be making some massive moves this summer and United look set to lose their number one as a result.”

Wolves 5/2 NOT to win Championship; 7/1 to miss out on promotion
WOLVES ARE LOOKING MORE LIKELY than they’ve been all season to miss out on the Championship title AND promotion to the Premier League, according to Ladbrokes.
The second tier table toppers were some 13 points clear last month and were as short as 1/40 to go up as champions, but that gap has since been cut to just three points, pushing their outright odds out to 1/5.
Meanwhile, 5/2 says the Black Country outfit DON’T win the league, with 7/1 on offer for them to miss out on promotion as Cardiff, Aston Villa and Fulham continue to close the gap.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We never thought we’d be saying this, but there’s now every chance Wolves slide off top spot and out of the automatic promotion places between now and the end of the season.”

TWO Italian clubs head the market for Wilshere
JACK WILSHERE LOOKS SET to swap England for Italy this summer, according to Ladbrokes.
The Arsenal midfielder is yet to sign a new contract with his current club, and the bookies have priced up five potential destinations as a result.
And it’s now AC Milan who lead the race for Wilshere’s signature at 2/1, ahead of Serie A giants, Juventus (11/4).
The two Italian clubs have leapfrogged a whole host of Premier League sides to the head of the market, while Newcastle (3/1) are the most likely side in England to make a move as things stand.
Meanwhile, West Ham (4/1) and Bournemouth (6/1) round out the betting, with a move away from the Emirates this summer seemingly on the cards.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Once again Arsenal have left it late when it comes to contract negotiations and it looks likely they’ll lose Wilshere as a result when the transfer window opens.”

Odds slashed on Prem pair making England’s World Cup squad
LADBROKES HAVE SLASHED ODDS on two Premier League strikers making England’s World Cup squad.
Troy Deeney and Glenn Murray both added to their tallies last weekend and the bookies have responded to recent performances by trimming odds on the pair taking seats on Gareth Southgate’s plane.
Murray is the most likely of the two at 10/1 (from (16/1), with Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy being the only out-and-out English strikers to score more goals than the Brighton man this season.
Meanwhile, Deeney has seen his odds cut from 33/1 to 16/1 – making him the biggest market mover of the last month.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Vardy and Kane look set to take up two forward spots, which leaves one place for another out-and-out striker, and clearly plenty of punters fancy a shock call-up for Murray or Deeney.”
